Apple opened iPhone Duo pre-orders on October 16, with availability starting October 23. Within hours, Apple's U.S. online store was showing new-order delivery estimates in late January, and MacRumors reported that Apple's store no longer offered delivery before Christmas.

The picture has shifted a little since. On October 19, MacRumors reported that Apple started moving up delivery estimates for some existing pre-orders in the U.S. and Japan, in some cases by several weeks. AppleInsider adds that this may not reach every customer, and recommends checking your own order.

As of October 20, 2026, neither report says what a brand-new order will show. Delivery dates are changing quickly, so check Apple's site or your carrier for current estimates before you plan a gift around any date. If you're considering a Duo as a gift, the safest plan is to have something ready for the unwrapping day regardless of when the phone arrives.

Who these cases are for
